Under 18yr Tanning
Oregon Revised Statutes and Laws state that "an entity doing business in this state as a tanning facility may not allow a person who is under 18 years of age to use a tanning device that is owned or operated by the entity".
The only exception to the new law is for minors who get a written recommendation from their doctor.
That recommendation must be on the state form (see below).
To allow RPS to verify that minors are not being allowed to tan, new client record requirements are in place.
Tanning clients who appear to be younger than 26 years of age are now required to provide proof of their date of birth (DOB) and tanning operators are required to document the type of ID and the ID number on the client record.
The client record information can be either in the client database or on client cards (see below).
Because of the new ID requirements, existing active tanning clients who appear younger than 26 years of age must complete a new client card or provide the additional required ID information.
How often should I tan?
It is recommended to wait at least 24 hours between tanning sessions to allow your skin to recover and to minimize the risk of overexposure.
Yes, wearing FDA-approved protective eyewear is crucial during tanning sessions. Closing your eyes or using inadequate protection like sunglasses does not prevent UV rays from penetrating and potentially causing eye damage.
Your spray tan typically lasts 7–10 days.
To maintain it: Wait 4–6 hours before showering.
Avoid contact with chlorinated water, as it can reduce the tan's longevity.
Should I shower immediately after tanning?
Showering after tanning does not affect the development of your tan. The tanning process occurs within the skin and cannot be washed away. However, if you've used a bronzing lotion, it's advisable to wait a few hours before showering to allow the bronzer to set.
To maintain your tan longer, keep your skin moisturized by applying lotion regularly, especially after showering. Hydrated skin retains a tan better and appears healthier.
Before your VersaPro spray tan session, it's recommended to:
Shower,
shave, and exfoliate your skin.
Avoid applying moisturizers or body lotions. Remove all makeup.
No, outdoor tanning lotions are not suitable for indoor tanning beds as they can damage the equipment and may not provide the desired tanning results. It's best to use lotions specifically formulated for indoor tanning.
